The Boy in Blue

Good day to everyone who spare your precious time in reading this story.

This is a true story of our neighbor who once upon a time I met in the youth organization of our church.

He was introduced to us by my uncle. He was active in our church activities. I could see him attend the Masses in our GKK regularly.

After a short period knowing this man, he settled down. His life was simple. This man was happily married. But fate seemed unkind to him when their baby boy was born. The boy was born with imperforate anus. With that anorectal defect, the boy has survived and now, he is nineyears old. The man’s tragedy did not end there. His poverty aggravated his situation. His wife just gave birth to their second baby. The baby was malnourished. And after two weeks, his wife passed away. She was so distressed in taking care of the sick boy, new baby and of him who had acquired a disease which needed serious medical attention. He was suffering from a tuberculosis. Now, this man is alone in taking care of his children and of himself.

The sick boy calls for a colostomy procedure, the baby needs nourishment and the man himself requires proper and regular medication.

This man’s life is so tragic, that would he not have faith and hope, he could not survive. This man is one of the few people who need our help in anyway we can. His life story is truly touching.

And if you think you are touched with this story, please don’t stop there. Don’t just pity him. Be moved, and share whatever you can. For as the saying says, an act of kindness, however small, is never wasted.
